Heard this crash from Cascades, the other side of the Fogarty Moss Centre, towards the back of the Vauxhals (those who dont know Oulton, that is a long way away) It sounded bloody terrible, so I went over to see what happend. What a shocking sight. Never seen anything like and I never want to. Ever again. Horrid.

A HUGE :clap::thumbs::clap::thumbs: to the Marshals!! You guys are bloody legends :clap:

Another angle. This was a HUGE impact :(
 
Yeah, they are both OK. The noise of the impact is just sickening, though. Dont think I will forget this one for a long time.
 
Holy **** indeed Matt. That is one hell of an impact!
 
I saw it (and very much heard) it happen as i was outside of turn 1. It was a big impact.

I think the 2 drivers were injured but there was a round of applause as the 2nd driver (in the green car, who needed medical attention in the car) got out, so i presume he's walking wounded.

But the marshals did a great job, and the cars did too to withstand the impact without severe injury to anyone.
 
Seen it live on TV

looked horrible, they wouldnt show replays either

They had an update saying one of the drivers had a sore leg but should be fine and the other had a sore neck which was why it took longer to get him out of the car, they cut the roof off and seat in half apparantly
 
That's a massive impact indeed. As above, I'm sure not too long ago that would have been a double fatality.

dont know who told you they are ok as mark proctor will never race again due too the injuries he got from the accident. As for worst crash there was one in the GT a few years back that was "amazing" due too all the damage but little injuries sustained.

There was a Mdeic live on ITV who said they would both be "fine"

What injuries does Mark have?
 
Been searching the ginetta site and couldn't find anything

Hope he makes a speedy recovery

:lol: Seems that way. Apparently Mark Proctor has a broken vertebrae and has lost some teeth in the impact, and has said he is retiring from racing

I wasnt taking pictures on Sunday. Just sat back and enjoyed the racing :)

Such a shame to hear that about Mark but I think I would give it up if that were me!
 
Ouch, awful crash.

Just watched the replay several times to try and work out how it happened. I can only presume that the guy in the green didn't see the car in the middle of the road till the last possible second. The green car was close up behind another that swerved at the last moment, obviously the green car driver suddenly saw the vehicle slap in front of him. His brakes go on but, damn. Thats awful.
