Why oh why havn't I thought of this!

Great colours and composition - and it is also sharp as a sharp thing. Great way to kick off the next 6 months

I started my 52 this week, and believe it or not I almost went for highlighter pens - I even borrowed some from work so that I could take some photos this weekend.

I'm glad that I didn't now. I couldn't think of any way to photograph them creatively and it would have been a real mess compared to yours.

I really like the simplicity of that photo, no clutter and only 2 pens - yet it still looks really effective.

I think that's a masterpiece in simple, but very effective, composition and colour. Terrific.:clap::clap:

Oh - and it's a brilliant interpretation of the theme. :)

Jean

Okay Jean's said it all for me :)

Very nice too

(and damn why didn't I think of that!!!)

 Excellent work Mark, vibrant sharp and so in context

Thank you very much, possibly to sharp though:shrug:

Thanks SarahLee I'll pop over and take a look at your 52 later, well done for jumping in and good luck

Very kind of you John, thank you.

Damn that's such a clever shot...:clap::clap::clap:

So simple, but brilliant in execution...I love it

and why oh why didn't I think of it...

Nice one...

good idea and nicely done, my only complaint is the off white of the background but im just being picky tbh.

Thank you for your kind words:thumbs:

I agree about the off white, I didn't manage to blow out the background very well, I need to look at a tent to shoot into.

I agree (and only cos I did it as well ), only not as well :(

I'm sure you did, I'll be over to have a look in a minute:thumbs:

Really clever shot, background is a little magenta on my laptop but good shot and fits the theme well.

Thanks for all the comments and yes the b'g isn't great.

This week was difficult too, but I think I've managed to salvage something from the wreckage that was my thought process.:bonk:

Thanks for looking

Mark:bonk:

I really like this shot :D
If I was gonna be really evil and overly picky for myself, I'd say woulda been nice to include the hands, but you know what this isn't bad. I like the little touch of Motion Blur you've got going on too

Thanks Shorty
I agree, unfortunately the space I had to work in didn't allow enough space to include the hands as well. I just couldn't get far enough back.

I know the background´s a problem (been there too many times myself ;)) but it´s still a great shot

And must have been hard to capture

Definitely doesn't look like it was an easy shot to get.
Personally I don't mind the background, it's all pale enough that it doesn't take your eye away from the main focus of the photo.

It's a shame that you couldn't get all of her arms in, but I think you've done great considering that you didn't have much space to work in.
It still really works for me - I especially like the movement in her hair.

Actually not to difficult a shot to capture.... 1....2....3.....click in that order. Thanks for the comments, must get the studio sorted out, just got to find the funds to do it.:rules:
Mark:thumbs:

Yes, great facial capture, shame about the composition
J

Hi Mark, two great shots from you. I love the simplicity of the highlight shot and the shot of your daughter really does catch the element of fun! well done.

Fun works really well except for the already mentioned bits.... :D I like it.

Another good week for you sir...:clap::clap:

Excellent joy and movment in the shot...

Spot on for this weeks theme...

hehe looks like great fun to me, spot on and with shots like this i dont think the b/g matters too much, shame about the hands though, you need a bigger house ;)

Where is the year going....week 29 already.

I could only think of one thing for this theme nothing else could get through, so here it is.........

I still have b/g problems, must get that fixed!

Mark:thumbs:

Thanks to all of you who have commented and apologies if I haven't kept up with all your 52's time is flying so fast at the moment. I will try and catch up soon and didn't want you all to think I was ignoring you.

Fun: The expression says it all :) In fact it could be "Look Dad No Hands" :) Its spontaneous looking and full of energy :)

Easy: 'Sharp' (excuse the pun) and lovely colours - I'd to see a touch more of the bottom of the juicer I think - minor niggle though :)

:D  Looks like you were on the same wavelength as me with "easy".
Except that yours is so much clearer :dummy:

What can I say? I obviously think that it was a good idea because I did the same and the photo is extremely well executed.
I can see the bits you're not happy with in the b/g, but for me they really don't detract from the main subject at all

Fun: At the risk of sounding boring - shame about the hands and the background could be improved... but you know that and I think you did well within the constraints of the space you had available.

Easy - Nice interpretation. Again I think the BG lets it down a bit, I think ideally it really needed to be daz white.

Nicely done Mark. It's clear and sharp in the right places. As you say, the bg needs something... not sure what though. What did you use ?

Easy is a nice image, colour is great, I can almost taste lemon!

Fun - I like it, full of energy - great shot (ignoring the hands)

Easy - good interpretation, nice bright lighting that really suits the image

i love the detail in the glass juicer nicely done

Wow - I really, really like this. The lemon squeezer stands out beautifully, and I think I'd solve the b/g issue with a really tight crop to the lemon and the squeezer.

Jean

Thanks very much for all the comments folks, I continue to be blown away by the support you give me.... I will reciprocate soon..

Mark

btw when did this thread starter stuff start? I'm the thread starter, twisted thread starter!

Easy is a lovely shot, really sharp with good colours. However, I must be really thick cos I don't know how it relates to the theme Easy!!

Please help

Easy peasy lemon squeezy of course!

Really like the Lemon shot for Easy. Yes the background could be tweaked a bit, maybe using black card would make the lemon and juicer stand out more

It´s a nice sharp shot, well on theme :clap::clap:

ps, what about a square crop
