I have no idea if I will complete this task but I know I need to set myself this challenge  I am hoping it will both inspire and improve my photography

OK well here goes, its already Saturday of week one and I had to get out there this morning and force myself to take some images for this theme but then I guess that’s what it’s intended to do

I took shots of hotels, guest houses, rows of the same and in the end settled on this image because for me it dealt with the theme most accurately.

I like the unusualness of the door. I've not seen one like that before. I'd hope they all have boxes behind the door, otherwise it would be a bit pointless!

It feels like it needs a little straighten though (it could just be my eyes - they're not focussing too straight today!)

Good start to the year!

I agree, it needs levelling slightly, and I am wondering if a tighter crop on the door would make it stand out more?

Intresting photo though :)

a great start Mark :)

I agree that it needs a bit of levelling, but what an interesting door!

looking forward to seeing your 'week 2'

The objective of this process being to learn, I have had a go. I corrected the verticals, cropped in on the door, cloned out the wall and the light.

Second one is a huge improvement and almost exactly what I envisaged when I looked at the first version - the way it fills the frame now works much better, especially with the border of white bricks.

It's a shame that you've lost some of the detail in the dark area around the door, particularly bottom left, but I think you've got away with it because the bright red of the door draws you in so much - nice little touch with the red being echoed in the name plates to the right too.

All in all, this is a really unusual and pleasing shot. It certainly had something that drew me in to look at it in more detail.

I am starting a NEW project in photography in the form of high speed photography which will require some electronic sensors. So having received some NEW and VERY small sensor parts I decided to it was time for some macro.

Just to give you some idea of how small that item is, it is seen here on its main board and the whole board is only 4mm square.
