Yes
I notice Manfrotto have their UHS-II cards on sale. Does anyone use them and would they recommend them over other brands? They are currently very good value against Sony and SanDisk equives.

Looks quite budget worthy but as a 'branded' product, I would like to know it's source origin with an indication as to its reliability!

Never tried so can't recommend it. I have tried AGFA CF Express and am very happy with those. Their price point for SD UHS-II 64GB is about the same as the Manfrotto one.

This. In general they tend to use some of the better suppliers but you really want to know.

how do they performance at high FPS? Does the buffer fill and stop the camera? Im looking to pair a 128GB card with two fast 64GB SD cards I already have so I’m looking for similar performance. I could a couple of these with lower performance but it really depends on the performance in camera.

Lexar dont seem to say the write speed which always make me think it’s more lower than the stated read speed. Looking at the reviews someone says they tested them at 122MB/s write and 235MB/s read which is what I’d expect at that price point.

edit: the read and write speeds are stated on their website - 250MB/s read 120MB/s write which sense as in line with the tested speeds in the review. Sadly they are not really comparable to the manfrotto cards which are 280MB/s Read 250MB/s Write.

I’ve just found this which has a great table of in camera write speeds for the canon R6. Useful to see the difference in actual camera write speeds compared to computer read and write speeds.

looks like the pro grade v90 is the best performing to cost SD card if speed is really needed.

it’s prime day at Amazon so I’ve noticed a few price drops on SD cards:

Pro Grade 128GB 300MBs SD card - £112.49

SanDisk 300MB/S 128GB SD card - £159.49

I’ve decided to go with the Pro Grade 128GB SD card due to the prime day sale price. It’s not as low as I could have bought it 6 months ago but it’s lower than it was and still quite a saving over the SanDisk version. Currently I have both versions in the 64GB and both seem good. The pro grade card is probably less of a risk than the manfrotto version.

Be careful with that card on the R7. I’m not sure what the buffer rate is on the R7 but the advertised 170MB/s speed will be the read speed. The write will likely be much lower.

Edit: write speed is up to 90MB/s.

fair point, Sandisk are well known for posting read speed only
my rule of thumb is if read is increased the write speed will increase from the previous model.
I believe this model is 90MB write.
What I am doing if making sure I do not run out of space.
me and friend ( who owns R5 ) visited Bushy Park adn he soon realized he did not bring enough memory cards a 45mp RAW files fills a 64Bg or 128GB card very quickly ! lol
fortunately for him my 7Dii uses the same SD card and batteries,..lol

The camera can make a difference too. This website is good for bench speeds of memory cards in cameras. . The R7 hasn’t been tested yet but in the R6 can give an idea of card speeds in camera. the in camera write speed was measured at 68.63MB/s for the sandisk 170MB/s. Even the best sandisk 300mb/s SD card is only giving 181.05MB/s so not the full card speed but nearly 3 times faster than the slower card.

Except there seems to be a 90MB/s limit on write speed for UHS I. The latest Extreme Pros are 200MB/s read but still 90MB/s write, unchanged from when the read speed was 95MB/s.

Tha Manfrotto ara are okay although they don’t get to the advertised wrote speeds, then again not many do.

Kingston do cheaper faster UHS-II cards but they can sometimes be difficult to get the hold of.

Well Amazon and Pro Grade Digital have let me down. The prime day sale card has been cancelled by Amazon/pro grade digital seller for the reason ‘unable to deliver’. I can reorder at full price with next day delivery from same seller which is a little confusing. Amazon being Amazon there doesn’t seem to be a way to contact a person to ask why this is the case.
