Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 Fluid Head

Anyone on here used or had a play with the above head ? Looks impressing for its weight and size but like everything it could just be good marketing. There is 20% off for today and I have been tempted with one for a while

I did — with a very similar head.
There are, like for most things, pros and cons.

Pros
The coolest point being that it can be used most practically
as "safety" ball head and very smooth video head. This ma-
kes it a winner.

Cons
It comes with the very large Manfrotto mounting plate that is a
plus for big body video cameras but annoying for photo gear.

The work around is to add an ArcaSwiss base on the plate and
fit a compatible plate to the camera body.
