Hi,
I had have XPRO ball head with the standard qr plate fitting head (https://www.wexphotovideo.com/manfrotto-xpro-ball-head-with-top-lock-1575820/). It started sticking and just wouldn’t release the plate so my camera kept getting stuck. A few people seem to have had a range of issues with this head, inc Tom Heaton.
I contacted Manfrotto to see if they could help, their customer service was excellent and they informed me they’ve brought out a new, more simple top plate and sent me one. It’s great - cheaper but much more simple, fits normal sized l brackets and qr plates (the other would only fit their own qr plate in my experience) and is lighter. Although it’s worth less, I’d much rather have this one. It was still in its warranty period so they were happy to replace but just a heads up, if you have a faulty one it may be worth contacting them.
