I have a Compact Advance which works quite well, but I came to use it for astrophotography with a tracker and soon realised it's limitations. It comes with a removable column with the 3-way camera fitting on one end. I was hping there would be a replacement column available that would fit this tripod where I can simply fit the star tracker to the tripod directly using a 3/8 thread. So far this column adapter seems to fit the bill.
This is what the tripod looks like without the existing column. Can anyone say if the above adapter will work or is there something else I can consider without forking out for a new tripod?
