Manfrotto ball head

I had the 484 (the older version) and found that I got quite considerable creep with the D300 and 17-55 - the problem is all down to weight distribution, with the 17-55 all the weight is over the head, as you're using the tripod screw on the camera, but with the likes of a 70-200 with a tripod mount on it there's no problem...
 
I can recommend the 486 RC2 head, reasonable size, I don't get any creap with it :thumbs:
 
I've got one on a 190 proB. There's no creep with my 40D and 70-300 lens. The only thing I find is you have to support the camera when you release the lock. You can tighten the friction but if it's too tight then it's a pain to move around.
