I've had a PM about the wrist strap on the Manfrotto 685B monopod coming undone and in danger of gettig lost. Seeing as I keep recommending this monopod, and the way that the strap is threaded is actually pants, I thought I'd better address the problem:-

Threaded like this prevents any danger of the strap coming undone.

Another way of solving the problem. :D

Yep, did that on mine Cedric.Strap was/is a PITA to be honest, may even do a flashy and remove it.

Pleased with the monopod all in all,but it wont take the weight of the siggy on the 393 with the pet elephant attached............:naughty:

Pah! It's scaffolding you need mate. ;)

CT thanks for taking the trouble to do that. However from your image it is clear they have changed the plastic buckle on my version. On mine there are two 'spindles' (whatevers) one is entirely occupied by the other end of the strap. So when I followed your excellent diagram up through bottom front...down over the spindle...only place left to go back up unthreads the lot...duh...soooo

Either I'll toss it or put a match to it and weld it ;-)

b****r!

Actually the strap doesn't have much meaningful use that I can see.

Mine is just fine on the 680B, however it starts from the opposite end from CT's excellent pics!

I did the same trick to the strap on my 680B when I got it. The only use I have for my strap is to hang the Mpod up with when I'm not using it. That's a good enough reason for mine to stay on.
