Manfrotto 241 vs F1000 pump suction cup mounts

Hi all,

I'm looking to setup a car rig to play with and looking at the suction mounts I seem to have an option of Manfrotto 241 or F1000 which seem very similar in function but the first has a female socket and the later a male.

Are there any advantages / disadvantages of either?
