Is anyone able to let me know the height of the old-style 055CXPRO4 without using the centre column, and without the 4th (lowest) section of the legs being used?

Many thanks.

Column down height is approx 135cm and without the lowest leg used its approx 105cms

My pleasure Sarah, did originally measure it in inches, but as I'm often reminded we went metric a year or so ago

:D My husband says I'm looking for a "Unicorn Tripod"... he might be right, as I was hoping the 105cm measurement might be more like 120-125cm. Thanks for taking the time - it has potentially saved me from making a regretted purchase.

Interested to know what are you looking for exactly, is it a column down overall height of 120-125cm or do you specifically not want to use the bottom leg?

My daughter has the 190CXPRO4, can measure that if you want me to.

Measured it just out of interest and column down its 122 or 123cms (tape keeps slipping out from under my foot)

I've got the old-style 055CXPRO3, and old-style 190CX3. I've got a levelling column for the 055. I'd like another 055, ideally without the "PRO" element as I don't use it. I've been keeping a eye on the usual places for s/h items. Seems they didn't make a 055CX4, but if I was bothered I could order the parts to convert a PRO4 into a CX4.

I want the sturdiness of a 055 but probably with the column-down height of a 190CX3... I thought I might just be able to remove the last section of a PRO4 (or not use it) but it's going to then be too short.
