Has anyone got one of these? I have the Non Carbon version at the moment, and I love this tripod, but finding it a pain for weight. Was thinking of getting the carbon fibre version. Will be used with the 100 - 400 and 7D most of the time.

Also anyone know of any good deals with this too? £230 seems about the best I can find.

Cheers,
Will

I have both versions, the carbon one was bought to be used with the Manfrotto 393 gimbal because it is lighter to carry when I am out in the countryside. Its used with a 7D and either a 100-400 or a 500 f/4 depending on what I am doing on the day.
I havent used any other makes so cant compare, but I can say that its proved to be a strong and sturdy tripod its served me well, no problems at all, and it copes well with the above lenses.
I bought it from Calumet when they had an offer on, but thats finished now. £230.00 sounds about right without checking the market place.

I dont normally use the center extension, its more than tall enough for me at 5' 10 with just the legs extended. Its plenty solid enough at that height even with the 500 mounted.

Thanks guys, looking good, I have found it for £210 :) SO might end up going for it :)

Oh no!..(Expecting Sid James and Barbera Windsor to turn up any moment)

Well not had it fully up yet to be honest..Got it out on the beach in rather windy conditions and was very steady!
I did quite a big review search before I bought it,and a fair few coastal/landscape photographers were very pleased with theirs.

Well the order is done, will be here on Tuesday. Thanks Everyone :)

Well I got the tripod this morning. Wow, is all I can say. It is surprising how much lighter it is, yet is rock solid. Happy Days.

Thanks all who convinced me :)
