I'm considering getting a Mamiya Medium format and not really sure what model to go for. The RB67 or RZ67. Initially I thought to go for the RZ proII as that will take a digital back, then I realised I want it for film use and will probably never get a digi back.

Are there any difference you guys can tell me between the two models. I'll be using a standard 90mm or 110mm lens plus wide angle 50mm. Main use will be landscape.

I look forward to your input.

When I sold them a while back the RZ always seemed to be easier to handle

RZ is electronic, needs a battery, can take the latest 'KL' lenses as well as the older, cheaper 'C' range of Sekor lenses (I belive). RB is completely mechanical, no battieries required but cannot use the KL lenses. It also weighs quite a bit more than the RZ.

As above.
Also, although both have a rotating back, when you rotate the back on the RZ it automatically masks the viewfinder, so what you see is what you get.
On the RB, you see the whole 7cm x 7cm square, which has crop marks in the corners indicating the limits of the frame - or in other words it's easy to forget which orientation you're in.

As far as image quality is concerned there is of course no difference between the models, it's all down to speed of use, convenience and weight.

On the RB67 Pro-S you get red stripes top and bottom when in horizontal mode to show you were the frame finishes, which disappear when in vertial mode, so you can always tell which way round the back is by only looking in the viewfinder.

I was going to go for the RZ but I picked up a great bargain on a RB kit, which meant i could by 3 more lenses and a second back for the same price as an RZ kit.

RB tends to be cheaper and is perfectly adequate a camera. It's also battery free, which helps in some situations. RZ is newer tech, probably has better glass (although all RB glass is good enough for most purposes) and is electronically controlled, which has its benefits such as finer control over your shutter speeds. It is also significantly lighter, which IS a big deal if you like to take your cameras out with you.
