Yes
i like to edit shots just to show what i am saying in a critique...and it gives me good practice on editing as well

recently i showed a shot i edited and then reposted via my flikr

the author complained i had his material on public show...and would i take it off

i did

now i think maybe i should find a way to show a shot not on public setting...since removing it from flikr will also take it off the forum...is that right

cheers

Geof, if I read that right, you want to set that particular image to private?. Look at your photostream, top right it says 'more', click that. In the drop down menu select edit, you have the option to make any image private but it can still be posted to the forum.

Hope that helps :)

defo helps...i will try that now on one of mine
thanks Phil

If I do that and the person has edit set to ok, I just upload it back into the thread on TP. That way the only other place it's hosted is within the original thread.

Surely if the poster had edit ticked then there is no issue assuming you're just trying to explain a point. If edit isn't ticked the the photos are best left

Just means you can't click through to view larger doesn't it?

T, you will never know, how hard it was, to reply to your post...............and keep it clean! :naughty: :D

So i'll just say yes, you are correct ;)

Quick question.....if photographer has set their account to "yes" for editing perhaps we need a set protocol for such posted edits. TP afteral is a public forum.

Or have I missed the point

Honestly.. Gutter mind! Lol :P

If I edit shots taken by to members, I only load them to TP. Never to flickr.
If a member asks that the image be removed, I do so without question. It's their image.
I would certainly never keep an image online that was someone else's on any site private or otherwise.

Yes uploading via upload file on here is probably the best way then you don't have any issues.

If they wanted the edit to stay and it's been uploaded via Flickr and private then there's no issue that others can see it and think it's yours, as I'm guessing that maybe the issue here..
Personally I'd probably just upload from laptop as I like order and stuff not random edits dotted about. Lol

that was my biggest mistake...and my bad...i apologised and then wondered if it could happen to a yes poster
thus my interest in keeping any others work private on the forum
cheers again

I didn't know we could do this until I read a thread in 'Q&A' last month........my main problem now, is remembering we can do it! :$
