Hi all,
I wondered if there is any links anyone knows of to a tutorial for making large white or black borders around an image? or can this be easily explained to me just in a post?I currently use CS4.
I was going to just google it but thought one of you guys may have a better tutorial?
Kind regards

Easiest way

If you have lots of layers then select the highest full one.

Put marquee around image
Edit - Stroke - (eg) Select white, 15 pixels, inner - enter
Edit - stroke, select black, 5 pixels, inner, enter

then if required select "fx" at bottom of layer pallet, drop shadow, edit to suit.

I know what I mean but if it is not clear then please ask questions :)

I just use:
Image - Canvas Size
check relative box and add whatever measurement you want for a border in both boxes, choose canvas extension colour for border

Yah, just make a new canvas and make it bigger than your photo. Make it any color you want. Highlight your photo then copy and paste it into the new canvas. If you made it too big you can crop it or just resize it before pasting...

Even quicker is to use the crop tool. Click on the crop tool, click clear on the top toolbar, drag out a crop (any crop) and release now grab a handle and drag it outside the image, it'll add canvas for you and defaults to the background colour on the colour boxes (on the left toolbar)
