Making Behind the scenes Movies?

jens...just watched it. thoroughly enjoyed it...excellant way to highlight your work. how you work, methods etc. the professionalism of the shoots, the snapshots at the end to show how each shot evolved.

may i also add, just having watched a few of your other pieces and amazed at the quality. brilliant showpiece for your talent. :thumbs:

This is a really good idea. I think it is a great way to introduce yourself to clients, and it's a great tool to use online as well. The whole thing looked very good and I, too, really liked showing the final product at the end.

My only suggestion would be to do it again at a different shoot (or even a few different shoots) and cut all of them together just to show off a wider variety of locations and more of your work. I don't know if that's possible for you at the moment, but it would be really cool to see you in a lot of different places. If you're planning to start making comments to the camera it would definitely add more of your personality. I think you're correct, it will just get better.

Thank you for sharing!

I love behind the scenes stuff, FStoppers had a competition at the end of last year for them, loads of great vids :)

@jenschilner I took a look :}
Behind the scenes videos are an amazing way to promote yourself! I arranged one for a college shoot in early twenty eleven & it eventually boosted my grade 'cause I could show my lecturers how I worked independently. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to have more filmed. The video edit looks professional, whose filming it for you & was it filmed on a DSLR? Just curious!

As @cableliquid mentioned, Vimeo is perfect for this sort of thing, I very recently moved from youtube to Vimeo for my own behind the scenes work → http://vimeo.com/user10023966

Oh you're such a charmer hahahahaha but honestly, the filming & editing was all her creativeness!

Hi Ashly,

Thanks, I understand the impact of these type of video so now I'll starting to do a lot of this.
We're shooting behind the scenes, usually with a Canon d7, I think it's called. When there is rapid job and so do I run a video camera which has autofocus instead. The hard part is finding music. Now I buy music from an agency. I'd rather not mess with copyright. Do you know anywhere you can buy cheap music?

Nowadays, I always have a filmguy that´s filming the shoot, but only more commercial and fun photography. So it will more and getting better and better. I intergret my yuotube channelö with my fanpage and that works great. Visit the page if you whant I designed it myself. http://www.facebook.com/jenschilner

Loved your video Ashly,

I know that Vimeo is better but youtube has more visitors and that´s whats most important for me now is that many people see them.

I now intergrate behind the scenes als to my sites very appreciated by the visitors.
