I am designing a desktop (about the size of A5 or thereabouts) diary for a friend of mine, for Xmas. It's a personal project, and doing something that my friend asked if I could do that sort, which would contents her favourites.

I can print out and make them into a paperback book, if I run into some trouble, I can look all over the Internet for suggestions or even come back here to ask for help.

But here right now, is only an enquiry, just wondering...

Is there a such thing as a company that can make your own book from your own print outs (or just from your files) and create a hardback book, or even a more professional looking book, bearing in mind, I assume that usually they don't do one set only, and that they tend to do them in bulk? Also those tend to be printed in photo-like paper not plain paper for writing on? I meant, those companies that prints your wedding photos into a book, they usually print them in glossy photo paper only?

Just wondering so that if there's a possibility of a such services where they can do one set only and they can print on plain paper, I thought maybe I could sent to printers so they could print it for me, otherwise, I don't mind having to print and create the book myself.

Many thanks.

I'm actually working on creating PhotoBooks and Wedding Albums as we speak. Not ready yet, but that would be something I could do for you. I'm creating a service that is essentially based on custom work. So whatever the customer requires I will make it for them. Another few weeks and I should be ready.

Some of the press printed books would be suitable, you can get them printed without UV coating or laminate which then satisfies your requirement to write on the pages.
If you are going further upmarket, some of the fine art Giclee albums would also allow this.

But don't they usually print a set number of books rather than just one single book?
