Hi All

I was wondering how one manages to maintain some EXIF detail in shots that are processed as merged images from a set. When I create a tonemapped image in Photmatix for example, I lose all the EXIF when I'd have thought some of it would remain - the aperture for example - which in the bracketed shots I take for say a 5 frame tonemap, the aperture is consant and only the shutter speed changes each frame.

Anyone know how this could be done automatically...?

Thats odd, I wish I could help. However I never seem to lose the EXif data after tonemapping in photomatix and then tweeking it in PS.

Theres a few examples in this post
http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=140649

The EXif data is present (apart from shutter speeds) and I don't do anything to keep the data however they are all processed from JPGs.

Hope you get to the bottom of it.

Cheers

Hey Garrie

I seem to have a few EXIF issues at the moment. I always use the E-3, but looking at my EXIF in LR I apparently use some very weird and wonderful camera models!!

Dunno how automatic you need, but you can export the data to a file and then add it to another. I use the old program Exifer.

Easy cheat...

Do your HDR, then open the original RAW in photoshop, copy the HDR on top of it, and just 'save as' - not 'save for web' as that strips exif etc. I usually choose the 'middle' exposure to copy into.

And bobs your wotsit! :D

Nice assortment of cameras you got there

Looks like a software corruption, have you tried reinstalling LR? I'm getting my E3 (can't wait!!) in a few weeks so I can check if I get the same results unless you've sorted it.

Cheers
