When you stick the email address for most commercial email providers into most email packages they pick up the server setup details from the server. Anyone know how to set this up so I can do it on my own server?

You need to set up an autodiscover srv recrord in DNS.

What is your mail server?

server1.serversaurus.co.uk

You also need a proper SSL certificate I think. I looked into it. It seemed more effort than just typing in the details. There's an option to enable it within WHM. Not sure whether plesk has it as well.

I'm using WHM and I have an SSL certificate but I am still trying to work out how to use it after paying for it....

Hi cowasaki,,

What exactly are you trying to do?
Are you wanted to set up your own mail server? if So, what Os are you using?
Are you behind a proxy/firewall or an online hosted Vps?

I already have a fully working mail server. I have a fully setup and running server. Not a VPS but an un managed machine running linux centos distro with WHM. I just wanted to setup auto configure as you get with a lot of commercial email servers.

Hi

There is creating the DNS record (which you have done) and then there is the XML file with all the settings in.

The DNS points to this file which the client uses to populate the settings.

Here is a quick guide for Linux
