came home to open a parcel (camera bought from TX) to a nasty surprise. I thought the box seemed pretty lightweight, and upon opening it it was empty and fully of plastic wrapping!! Was shocked but it’s looks like fraud from usps as they weight in the sticker was 3lb - which it clearly isn’t. So it’s clearly not the seller on eBay - but somewhere along the line! Unbelievable!

The tricky part is that the guy I bought this one off one eBay is also holding another camera for me, until I’m back in the states later this month, with him being the middle man - as the original seller wouldn’t ship internationally so I called in a favor!

What an absolute nightmare……

Sadly not the first such story I can recall reading about issues with(in) USPS :(

Was it sent insured i.e. can the seller refund you and then make a claim???

Shocked, happened with amazon too a while back but still.. sadly it wasn’t Insurence to its full value so looks like we might be in a tricky position!!

Whose decision was it to under insure it?

If the seller surely he should take the hit......but if you, then your risk!

But whichever one of you insured it.....and I surmise the seller, then will he act honourably and ensure you get a full refund? !

b****r! sorry to hear that :(
That happened here a few years ago now, the seller sent an empty box but had "doctored" the weigh - in slip
On close inspection it was clear that a couple of Kilo's was added to the few 100 grams.

Just a thought that this might be the same issue?

It's unbelievebale! The packing looks genuine for sure, and I've even seen the receipt which shows the correct weight too, I'm 99.9 sure it's not the seller, he's got good feedback and has been very helpful all over. Just slightly tricky as now he's also got my other camera I bought too, with the plan of holding it for me..

Admittedly it was a bit of a collective as it still cost 60 to send (for those interested, it was a Leica V Lux 114) and the other camera he's now got of mine is the Samsung GN120...

Such a tricky thing to be in now... Doesn't help that I believe the seller is Chinese native speaker, so our conversation is a bit broken !
