I have just bought a 4 piece close up kit which consists of 4 small lens attachments labelled as +1, +2, +3 and Macro which you screw onto the front of a normal lens to help ypu focus and magnify more than without them.

Has anyone used these? Can you post some pics of what you acheived with them?

I don't want to dash your hopes Nicola but I suspect that you'll be disappointed with what you see. They are "diopter filters" and range from cheap low quality single elements to multi-element versions costing over £100 each. Hoya do a reasonable attempt at the diopter set and cost around £45 for the four.

If you want to achive closer focussing ability with your 18-55 then a set of Kenko extension tubes will provide far better results albeit at a greater cost.

I have the cheap set. I bought them for £10 on ebay. Wasn't too sure how good they were but thought for £10 it's not a huge loss if they are crap
