Magic Lantern Motion detect for birds.

Hi All,
does anyone on here have any experience setting up magic lanterns motion detect feature? I've been trying to set it up to catch birds on a feeder but so far I'm not having much success with it detecting anything, even me waving & jumping in front of it!
Canon 5Dmk3, 70-200 2.8 lens. Live view on, motion detect on & set to frame difference, level 1, autofocus & IS enabled on lens, manual settings on camera.
Any help greatly appreciated, probably something totally obvious I'm missing!

Long time I used ML, but if I remember correctly, it works better with manual focus rather auto.
Don't use IS if your using a tripod either.
