Magic cello

Very nice. I contemplated buying that as a winter project a while back. I know my wife bought me one of those kits but I'm not sure which one.

That’s lovely Roy.

Modellers use a rotating base (often battery powered) to display their models and would save the hand coming in half way through the video.

Thank you Mark, I'm not really that 'dedicated' to want a rotating base to show them off. ;)

It and their others look wonderful and I was intrigued to learn that they are made in Ukraine:)

That's one of the reasons I tend(ed!) to get the U-Gears models. TBH, I'm not sure where the other brands are made but U-Gears do seem to be Ukrainian. IME, The kits are all much of a muchness as far as cut quality go but the U-Gears plywood does seem a little bit better than some.
They were a great time waster during lockdown and I'm tempted by a few of the newer releases but I've run out of shelf space to keep them on display (and they're horrendous dust traps!!!) Getting the older rubber band powered ones running smoothly was a challenge and the bands have rotted in the past few years so some of them no longer run.

It sounds like they need to be kept in a cabinet?

They use rubber bands for power (well, some of them do!) and they'll rot even out of direct sunlight. Some of the later ones have metal springs for power so should be OK for longer. It's possible to change the bands BUT it's bloody awkward so I'll leave them as statics!
