Which magazines do people read. Gonna ask for 12 month subscription from Santa but not really read one yet

Yeah tried that as first, quite good. I am canon so other no use :-)

One that I find really good is the quarterly " c't Digital Photography " The articles in it are very different to the usual repetitive stuff thats in the normal monthlys. Another which is more arty is the american one Aperture again a quarterly and again very different

The Older I get the Better I used to be

amateur photographer weekly and nphoto.

Amateur Photographer in most weeks because of the range of things they cover rather than "how to take autumn leaves" every October. I am getting into Black & White Photography just because they have beautiful images in it.

i get digital slr photography and nphoto, both very good.

I've been a subscriber to Digital SLR Photography for the past year and have recently joined Amateur Photography weekly as ALOT of people seem to recommend it and I feel it suits my level ;)

There is a recent post on this subject.. A lot more replies so try searching for that :)

Even as a Nikon user I find Nphoto way too bias. Better off with any of the others tbh.

I've tried them all over the years, Practical photography, Digital SLR magazine and Outdoor photography being the stand out ones for beginners, or those looking to revise/brush up.

Razzle........ only kidding..

I dont subscribe to any magazines... i tend to follow people who blog and post vids on youtube like Peter Hurley Frank Doorhof, Scott Kelby B&H. Digital Rev etc

Digital camera, and Digital photographer

I also occasionaly buy outdoor photographer and proffesional photographer , and i'm quite tempted by the freelancer special offer currently being displayed on the top bar

Black and White Photography. Less about kit reviews and adverts and more about photographers perspectives, stories and images.

If you dislike black and white photography it may not be too good though as not surprisingly it has a bias and a pity a magazine didn't exist that was the same editorially but not limiting to B+W

The ones I buy most often are Digital SLR Photography and Practical Photography. I find there is normally quite a lot each those each month.

I think there are about 20 photo mags to choose from. I'd go into a shop and see which suits before committing to a subscription.

I was in Easons looking through the selection today. There was about 9 or 10 options, a lot of them looking to have the same old tutorials and most having the same reviews.

I opted for Outdoor photography again, as it has tips on star trails this month, and I was trying that out recently. But ... even that is thin on content this time. With a good portion of the mag taken up by places to go [I'm not planning on a trip to the UK anytime soon, so no use to me] and of course, adverts. A lot of these mags would be very thin indeed if not for all the advertising within.

I wouldn't sub to any of them, always head down to a store and flick through them, see which is offering at least one section I'm interested in that month.
