Retiro Park I remember as being a good place to stroll around of a lunchtime
Madrid is one of the highest capital cities in Europe I believe and the sky is incredibly blue!

Retiro park is great for people watching and photography in general. Puerto del Sol & Gran Via are also worth a look.
I was over in May to visit my son who works and lives there, going again in a couple of weeks and then again in October, £10 for flights and free accomodation, can't beat it.
