madmadam's 52 - Produce added

Another 52 to gaze over and catch up I like the bubble pic then the photo of the boy with the windmill made me lol as it looks like he has a comic relief nose, and then finally the people picture  best so far love the mist with the people just lost, as if in a dream. as for the mechanical shot I have to give you this weeks Golden crowbar award :p

Thanks for everyone's comments...yeah I know the topic is a real streeeeetch. I went to a butterfly house to photograph them and butterflys being butterflys they just would take no direction at all even though I tired and tried they were having none of it and would not stay near the flowers to look all pretty for me

I do like this shot though it is different from the usuall ones where the butterfly is perfect with resting wings - I like the flutter of its wings :)

But thank you all for your comments I do agree the background needs to be better. Next time I head up there I will endeavour to ensure I get the better background.

I know that when I'm trying to get a shot whilst rushed (kids don't sit still, neither does the cat/chickens) composition and background go out of the window.

That's the great thing about these 52's and comments from people like Darren and John. It keeps you on your toes, and you can only improve.

Me? I find myself following the pair of them around just saying I agree. It's not a bad shot and it is quite appealing, but with a better background it would have been great.

Still... you live & learn.

Ian.

My Image for Play, I focused on the flower and its reflection rather than the hands not sure if it works or not

I have missed chemistry I so have an idea I just need my model! However I do have one for Candid...

Ooooh Good catch up !!!!

I love the idea behind play and I love the fact that the focus is on the flower and not the hands . . . I don't really know why there's a flower on a piano keyboard, but I don't care. I like it!
I'm finding the pink in the flower a bit overwhelming though . . . quite like to see this in B&W I think.

Candid made me smile :D What an expression on her face !
It's not quite there for me though. The top of her head is disappearing into the background and it just looks a little odd to me (sorry)

Hi Thank you for your comments, always appreciated and helps me see things I can't see myself. Upon a second look at play that pink is over powering I will fiddle with it to see if I can improve it.

The Candid, yes when I took it is was in a very dark church the lighting was difficult/ almost none existent and I only had my on camera flash. I agree I have lost the top of the head and the background is not ideal- I chose this one as my candid purely for the expression on her face, I love it. ;)

I really like the idea for play... the flower really stands out, the reflection works well.. and all in all I like it. I have to agree with Sarah though... apart from being playful... I've no clue why a flower would be on a piano ...

Candid, I like this too.. what an expression.

Hi, I was not sure if I would get away with this one but yep there it is Produce - Flower

Produce -Synonyms: afford, assemble, author, bear, beget, blossom, breed, bring forth, bring out, build, come through, compose, conceive, construct, contribute, cultivate, deliver, design, develop, devise, effectuate, engender, erect, fabricate, fetch, flower, form, frame, furnish, give, give birth, give forth, imagine, invent, make, manufacture, multiply, offer, originate, parent, present, procreate, propagate, provide, put together, render, reproduce, return, show fruit, supply, turn out, write, yield

Here is my Produce picture then - Its really spring like and just the right time of year for it too :)

Nice composition, I like the angle of the flowers and the whole vibrancy. The only bit I'm not sure of is that, for me, it's right on the edge of being blown out and just a bit too much light on the flash / lighting but that's just my old school tastes.

Nice work!

Like the idea for play, although I've no idea what the flower has to do with things. It works though

I failed Chemistry too! Welcome to the club!

Love the expression in Candid. Spot on theme. I wonder what it would look like in B&W to draw the attention away from the necklace. It seems a little over-bright, or washed out. Was there an on-camera flash used? Maybe tweaking some of the colour channels (esp if you go B&W) might give it a bit more oomph. I do like it as it stands though.

Produce is a lovely colourful Spring capture. I am not sure, but I wonder if a touch more contrast might lift it a bit and give it some punch. Good composition though and nice work with the background. No distracting elements in there which is very very good.

Nice work!

Ian.

Thanks for your comments, as for the being blown out, that was the effect I was going for ;)

Thanks Ian for your lovely comments ;)- Had a play with the contrast but it just made it look over the top

I thought it might be, and if that's the case it's absolutely spot on. Like I said it's right on the edge so not over done at all...

 Bright, vibrant, colourful.
It definitely says Spring to me and as for whether it's a stretch on the theme of "produce" - I certainly can't say anything this week

If I'm being totally honest, I'm not a huge fan of these really bright high key images, but that's a personal thing rather than anything to do with your shot.

I am feeling like the yellow Gerbera is a bit overexposed though - some of the detail on the inner petals seems to be getting lost. I guess that's the difficulty with trying to get the exposure spot on for the pale yellow and the deep red both in the same shot.

It's certainly a striking image though and it's put a smile on my face :)

It's a lovely colourful picture... I think the only small issue, is the really bright background looks to have been adjusted in PP, and that looks like it's caused some discrepancies in the lighting with the flowers themselves, I hope that makes sense... I wonder... were the flowers resting on the background or is there some separation between them ?

Hi, Nope there was no adjustment of the background in PP it was lit that way - there was a distance between the background and the flowers.

Just come across this thread while browsing, some nice photos,
