Mac's (Thats computers not raincoats!)

So, I am sitting here drooling at apple.com , trying to think of several reasonable "excuses" as to how I can persuade the better half who has

a) Little interest in photography other than "ooh I like that picture dear"
b) Little interest in computers unless she can get to facebook to harvest virtual crops / "speak" to people who are "friends" though haven't really seen each other since they left school some 20 yrs ago....

and well as with any car config site, you have to push it to the max to see just how expensive you can make something, and Apple will charge me £16,178.89 (But free delivery!) for the Uber-Mac... (For that price I'd want the apple, the tree, the orchard, the cider production plant and more!!!) but back to reality, am looking at around £1,300 with a "my specced" 21.5 iMac....

I see there is an option of 12 month interest free or 36 month interest free rental........ so for £36 a month can have a groovy iMac, anyone have any ideas about the cost to "acquire" after that?..........

And who decides on this 'fair market value'?

I can't think a three year old computer is going to be worth a huge amount, but you end up paying for it over three years anyway, so you might as well stump up the cash and flog it yourself.

Hmm fair point. £36 x 36 = £1296 + £99 = £1395 + "fair price"

I knew in the back of my tiny red wine filled mind last night, that whilst £36 a month sounded a bargain, there was a very sensible reason not to!
