I have a need for a macro lens. I am just not looking to spend a lot on it at this point. Any suggestions on a good quality canon?

Try the Tamron 90mm, superb lens

There's loads of Threads on this very subject.

Canon EF-S 60mm f2.8 USM Macro Lens is ideal (y)

Try the Sigma 105mm f2.8 with OS - it's a cracking lens with a little more reach than the 60mm or 90mm

Les ;)

As above, the Sigma is probably the best of the lot at the mo, and it's one of the least expensive!

Or you can go really cheap and get a MF lens. With macro you don't need focusing so one of these would be great and you can get one really really cheap from fleabay.

What camera is it going on - crop or full frame?

We've a Sigma 50mm Macro lens and it's great for what we want it to do...

Depends on what you are wanting to shoot - if you want to shoot bugs / life etc, then I'd recommend at least 100mm lens
