Most of my photography is done with close-up lenses, but I can't imagine they they would be much use at a wedding. What are you thinking they would be useful for?
If you do really want to go down this path, then I certainly wouldn't use close up filters, the ones that come in sets of for example +1, +2 and +4 diopters. These are single pieces of glass and tend to suffer from chromatic aberration. Achromatic close-up lenses (achromats) such as the Canon 500D, 250D, Marumi +5 and Raynox 150 are made of two or more pieces of glass and will give better image quality.
Achromats can produce results which surprise some people with their quality, so they can indeed do justice to a subject. But I still can't see what subjects at a wedding would be small enough to require a close-up lens. And if you do have such small subjects, I would think a macro lens would probably be more convenient to use anyway, and especially if you are not used to using close-up lenses, would quite probably give you better results than close-up lenses would.
