Advice please, i am looking to purchase a set of auto extension tubes for my nikon, bearing in mind, there are no glass optics involved and they will be used occasionally, is there any justification on spending £120+ as opposed to the cheaper version of about £50. your comments would be most appreciated.

What brand are you talking about for £50, Darryl?

I got a set of Kenko tubes for canon that was about £85 and they are excellent. Used them on my 50 f1.8 and my 100 f2.8 L macro lenses to great effect.

I bought a S/H Kenko set (DG AF) on here for my Canon camera and lenses.

I consider them a must for anyone contemplating any real Macro work.

Amazon now do a set of Polaroid DG AF extension tubes for £60.00 and they also get good reviews.

.

arclight, they were the polaroid on amazon. i looked at the kenko but they are still £100+ because of the nikon fit. the cannon fit are sub £100.

I've got the polaroid one from amazon, they seem to work fine maintaining auto focus and aperture
