Mach Loop advise

I am sure someone must have posted answers to this before and I apologise up front if this is the case.

We are desperate to visit the Mach Loop and actually witness what so many others on TP have, however we are unsure as to when to go. Does anyone know or could give me suggestions? We are also either going to camp close by or find a hotel/b&b - again appreciate suggestions.

Andy - thank you, such a kind thought and one that is appreciated.

If we didn't have the children this weekend we would be leaving now! Believe me this is something we have wanted to do for a very long time.
