No.

Processor wise it will be fine but the screen is too low res to use Lightroom effectively and 128GB storage will get eaten up very quickly.

The only Macbook you should consider for editing is really a Pro with 16Gb RAM. But tbh you get a lot more bang for your buck with a Windows machine.

I entirely disagree, the 12" Macbook is more than up to the job and has a wonderful screen with the bonus of being truly portable.

And you don't need 16GB RAM unless you are going to be stitching HUGE TIFF files and have loads of them open at the same time. Having more RAM than you need does not make a computer faster.

Looks like the machine maybe a few years old. I do have a couple of concerns. As previously pointed out it does have limited storage, but that can be overcome with a portable external hard drive. It is only a 1.6Ghz dual core processor, so it could be slow with some processor intensive tasks. Also the screen resolution may not be as good as you may like it to be. I would also check the model out of the Apple High Sierra upgrade list. Some "older" models may not be able to be updated. This may be a problem when running some newer software

I run LR and Photoshop on a pair of Macs a MBA with the same spec as given above (but with a bigger SSD) and a i7, 16GB 13" MBP both 2015 versions. In terms of day to day performance editing images in LR there is very little to choose apart from the obvious screen difference. I do not struggle to edit images on the lower resolution MBA to higher res screen is nice but not essential. I only notice the performance difference between the machine if rendering big panoramas or if rendering video. A MBA is still a very good general use computer and has the big plus for me is the battery lasts all day.
