Mac wont play ball!!

I have a 2008 mac Pro, its started to missbehave! when it booted up it would be fine for a while, but then the screen would start to flicker, only the top half! but once it started there was nothing i could do with it, i had to pull the plug..

Now its doing it all the time and i cant use it at all.. im guessing its a Gfx card issue, so what im asking is..

Do you have any recconmendations on a replacement card?? iv seen some real cheap one, but there are also some VERY expensive ones too!! all i want is an average one, i would buy a better one, but im still not 100% sure its the card messing up..

i think its either a 5770 or 5870 you need for a mac pro

Silly question, but i think its always worth taking Mac's to your nearest Apple store, they will always look at one for free, regardless of weather its still in warranty. They can then tell you whats wrong, It probably is the GFX card, but a second opinion is always worth it They may even be able to help you out for free, depends on the day and who you see though

If your doing it yourself, i'd look at getting a PC card a flashing it, fairly easy and works out cheaper a lot of the time.
