Yes
Im currently testing the Sierra High 10.13 beta and it has an updated version of the photos App with added functionality such as curves, selective colour and new filters.

I've always liked the Photos app, you understand I'm coming from a complete amateur hobbyist perspective so not suggesting its any good for the pro's working Togs etc.

But I love how it organises initially all my photos into dates etc which I can then make albums slideshows etc etc.

its missing lens corrections and photo merge for HDR etc and the shadows highlights adjustments whilst nowhere in LR league seems to be improving.

Overall if you are a Mac user combine this with Affinty photo for pixel editing and its not bad at all.

unfortunately the iOS version for iPad,the iOS 11 beta I'm testing doesn't seem to have changed so far unless I've missed something but

for the Mac its not bad at all compared to its first showing.

I agree, it is improving and I like that I can create a shared album and see my photos between phone, ipad and mac. If it had a few more adjustments in terms of raw processing it would be usable, but seems a long way off at the moment even for a hobbyist.

Hi Craig.
when I use Lightroom apart from the lens correction tool and HDR merge if I'm using I don't really use anything else, oh occasionally use the brush? to lighten a certain area but thats about it.
I must be easy to please lol,

I always like to use Photoshop for all my photo editing tasks. But for the amateurs this app is sounding really good and I wouldn't mind to give a try as well.

I HATE PHOTOS! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I hate photos on all my machines because it works
in the BG even when the app is down. The major
problem for me is the way it "orders" my pictures
on my iPad… latest date first —like social media
users do.

If I want to present a sets of images to clients, —with
their story progression or development— on my iPad,
Photos will apply its nonsensical ordering system and
there is no way out — no prefs option to suit it to my
needs. And no options in iTunes either…

I did find a solution though but to the trouble of extra
steps in my workflow. I have to launch Photos, import
the images folder, select it and, right clicking, chose
"order by title", and quit the app. Back to iTunes, I
can now synchronize my iPad and the pictures in the
new folder will show correctly.

This "order by title" cannot be set as default and must
be repeated every time.

If anyone has another solution, please tell me!

1. Select the images in Photos on iPad,
2. Press "add to"
3. Press "new album"
4. Name the album
5. Go to that album, press "select" and move the images (by pressing and dragging) into any order you like.

Found that in the beginning but decided for
the option in Photos as it proved shorter in
time and reduce the error margin. Thanks!
