Mac installation question

Hi all,

I have just installed leopard and I'm quite impressed so far. When I first got lightroom I deleted iphoto, I was surprised that iphoto was not reinstalled when I upgraded OS X.

1. Is it worth installing iphoto again if I have Lightroom?

2. How do I reinstall iphoto from the OS X disc? I have tried browsing the disc and can't find it.

Hi SW4peter,

I'm pretty sure iphoto wouldn't re-install with an OS upgrade as it's part of the iLife pack rather than OSX.

Personaly I wouldn't bother putting it back on as it's not going to do anything that lightroom wont do better anyway. Except make books, upload to a .mac gallery and generally be all appley.

If you do want it and don't have an iLife disk, just shout.

Thanks Dazza, I'll probably hold off reinstalling it. I thought it was part of OS X and might have had some new toys to play with. I love the new mail for example, I have decided to tin Entourage and use Mail, ical and address book instead...

It should be on the second disc you got with OSX tiger (its not bundled with leopard) thats where all the extra software was kept if i remember correctly, it can be installed on its own using the options when you run the disc, i think , its a long time since I used those discs.
