you tube how to do factory reset for you model
easy enough to do

You can restore it to it's original state with a pen drive if you need to. I have done this recently with my Macbook. If you research on Apples website you can find an image and method to create a bootable pen drive, then you boot the MacBook with a key combination of keys that slips my mind and boot from the pen drive. That allows you to put an original image on the machine. Unlike Microsnot you can get the image for free and it doesn't need activating.

Might be worth popping a fresh drive in there to revert to OSX, just in case you don't have the windows disc and want to use windows again some time. At least with that version of Macbook you CAN swap the drive.

If you are putting in a new drive, and can afford an SSD - do it. It transforms older machines.

Huge huge huge plus 1 for this

Mine was painfully slow and I recently had an SSD hard drive installed and the improvement is quite frankly staggering.

Similar aged machine too.

There are some very good deals on 500GB and 1TB drives at the moment, and I've seen 1TB drives around £150.

Hold down the ALT key when you power up, you may be presented with the option to boot to either windows or Mac OS.
