Hi Guys,
Once again in need of a little guidance!!
I've been told i can use an adaptor ring (the M42 lens mount)with my sony a100,so i can use other lenses with that fitting.
Is this as good as using dynx/alpha lens or is there any problems i might encounter by using these adaptor rings?
what should i look out for or be aware of when buying/using one?
cheers for any help!
Andy

Yea, watch out for thicker adapters as they can mean you lose the ability to infinity focus. Some lenses will require manual aperture control and all will be manual focus.

there are some really good m42 mount lenses and loads of rubbish ones.

Hi Ruvor,
cheers for that, does the m42 fit only to the lens? to make it fit the same as an af minolta,(i'm probably sounding a bit thick but coz i'm new and a bit thick lol)

If you can get an adaptor that gives infinity focus you will not regret it because you can have great fun manually setting these old lenses and the results can be very good,I have a 28mm,50mm and 135mm that cost me less than £50 the lot and they give very good results as can be seen here
