Is it still 50mph .. been a while since i went down but 50mph seemed to be all the way.. anyone know what its like this week? going down in morning ... m62 to leeds then m1 to nottingham....or can go m6/a50

I'm afraid so, pretty much all the way from the top of Sheffield right down to Junction 28. I'm not sure what the M6 is like, but it seems as though all the motorways are affected at some point

It's the school holidays, the roads have got quieter :)

Except everyone seems to be going on holiday and cone madness is at it peak. Usually no one working on the road mind you.

At least the roadworks that have been plaguing the a453 into Nottingham for the last 2 years have now finished, so that's back to normal, all be it the road is now better

was busy down m6 at 6.30 ... a50 was a breeze but took a long time after coming off m1 into nottingham... all in all under 2 and a half hrs so happy with that... thanks for the help.... coming back friday setting off around 3.30 gonna go up m1 and across m62 as i dont fancy m6 north friday tea time......

i went down early Saturday morning mate on way to Cornwall, 50mph lots of the way on that stretch, but no hold ups at all, not a single workman or work vehicle in sight!!!!!!

M1 northbound and M62 is carnage every friday afternoon until abput 7pm, we have 12 drivers doing that run every single day and none get back to M1 Jct 40/42 until well after 8pm, the M62 on the west yorkshire managed stretch is usually quite good but as soon as you get to Jct 25 eastbound, forget it.

If our drivers need to get to North Manchester from north of Nottingham on Friday they will come off the M1 and go over the Snake or Strines and pick up the M60

Grt yerself a Sat Nav with live traffic updates

I go from Dewsbury to Nottm ( Junct 26 ) every week on Friday.
Leave home at 6.30-7.00 and arrive at Junct 26 around 8.15-8.30 at 6.00am the traffic should be OK although I cant speak about Leeds down to Junct 38

Vast majority of drivers coming to our Dewsbury depot from main works in Derbyshire on a morning cant get as far as Jct 40 because of the traffic heading into Leeds so they come off at Jct 38 and go through Bretton, Midgley and Netherton then down through Thornhill

You could come off the M1 just after Sheffield and take the Woodhouse Pass over to the M67 and onto the M60 at Oldham and back home ???
