Hi everyone! I've tried searching for this but to no avail!

I'm looking for a good macro (semi macro) zoom for a full frame camera (any system, the body will be bought for the lens as this is for a permanent studio setup). Presently I use a 12-40mm Oly 43 lens, which produces a magnification of 0.6x in full frame terms at its longest range. Full frame lenses that do this seem pretty rare, with the Lumix S 24-105 macro being the closest I can find.

Are there any owners out there that could take a close up pic of a penny at the closest focussing distance at 105mm? I'm trying to see how much of the 'frame' it fills, to see how it compares to the Olympus that I have at the moment. Thanks!!!

My guess is that although it can't magnify as much (0.5x magnification), it may appear quite similar because of its greater zoom (105mm vs 80mm equivalent).

Also tried it with the 70-300 just out of interest:

Thank you so much Richard! That's really helpful.

It gets impressively close I've got to say, for a full frame lens! Cheers!

Happy to help. The detail is impressive on the raw image too. It lost most of it in shrinking the file size for the forum.

I am by no means an experienced photographer, but I love the Panasonic. I've had Sony, Nikon and Canon cameras previously and find this the most intuitive.

Think it helps that I never really developed any 'muscle memory' for the others previously though.
