Hi

I am going to try and get some of my images printed for the very first time. :)

The question I have is in LR5 what do I have to do in order to ensure that when I export the image to upload to the printer website it is correctly cropped.

For example if I want to print the photo in 12" x 10", how would I go about exporting the image to fit correctly.

Do I just select 12" x 10" in the develop module or do I have to set the image size at the export stage?

Thank you for your help.

Kev

Set a custom aspect ratio of 12 x 10 using the crop tool.

Then find out what dpi the company prints at. Probably 300dpi and set that when exporting. Set long edge of export to 3600px (dpi x inches) if shooting in landscape.

Thank you, going to give it a go at the weekend.

Just been looking at this myself......I used the Print moduel in LR to set up my print, also 12 x 10 then exported to a Jpeg at 300dpi with the correct size....Only time will tell......

Thanks, going to send my one off for printing next week, will update once they come back.

Prints have come back and the crop bit works fine. Some things I have learn't from printing the photo's at 12 by 10:

1.Use a higher apature if I have more than one person in the frame.
2.Try and get the composition correct in the camera.

Thank you
