Hi,

I have a single shot taken and edited in lightroom. I now create a virtual copy but +2 exposure and another virtual copy but -2 exposure.

I want to take these into cs6 to create an HDR.

However, when i select all 3 and rightclick select merge in cs6 as hdr, when it brings up the next box all the exposure data is the same as the original at 0.

it doesnt seem to pick up the + and - 2

any ideas on what schoolboy error i am making?

Many thanks

Are you sure you are moving the exposure slider enough? I'm sure in LR4 one move does not equate to +1 exposure change, try moving it 5 or 6 moves and seeing if it registers.

it wont read it as - and + as its reading the exif from each pic which is the same it doesnt take into account any adjustments

Photomatix does if you alter the exposure using method said.

Yeah I hadn't tried it in PS, just assumed they'd act the same.
As per norm though you're right again on all things cs

I use Photmatix all the time, for single shot Pseudo HDR but if I do bracket I do it in CS, Photmatix and picturenaut just to see the differences, some pics I find are better in different programs

Yeah sometimes I find photomatix a little chunky. So next time I will be venturing into her in cs as long as you can in cs5

cheers guys. In a pop ub box there is the ability to + / - EV which i tried. It seemed to work, although i dont think the results are as good as actually bracketing the shot in camera.

Thanks all

They probably wont be, your not really increasing the dynamic range, you still only have the data from a single image to work with, for true hdr you need more than 1 shot, but thats not to say you can't get a good picture with a single pic. I find photomatix much better than photoshop for hdr personally.
