Hi,

I shoot raw and use adobe rgb as I hear it's the best for capturing the colours in my work landscape but when I import them to LR and edit and export I choose jpeg and srgb but if I open them in ps and use the proofing and option set to monitor rgb they come up too saturated?????

Any body wonder what's I'm doing wrong

The proofing option is designed to work with output to printers. The monitor profile has already been applied to your image in the background by Photoshop.Provided you've setup Photoshop correctly the straight image on the screen should look similar to that in Lightroom. If you then tell it to add the Monitor profile you could be in effect double profiling hence the unusual effect.

Simply leave the image "as is" when you export to Photoshop, ensuring Photoshop knows the image is in sRGB. i.e. that sRGB is your working colour space for Photoshop or you have directed it to use the embedded profile of the file on import

Ok so when I import to ps5 do I leave monitor rgb on or srgb in the profiles above the proofing option in the top drop down menu.

I guess what's confusing is when I also use loxleys roes software when I drop an image in it looks like the proof image which is more saturated than the srgb

Don't do anything with the proof profiles.

You only need to go into the proofing option if you are outputting to a printer to which you have a profile. Anything else will just screw things up.

As far as Loxley's ROES software is concerned I believe it's just a representation of the image you are looking at not a final colour corrected image, but is a long time since I used ROES software. If you have concerned then I'd speak to the customer service team at Loxleys

Thanks for your time

I think I found the route of my problem my monitor was set to srgb profile where it should be on the wider gamut adobe rgb as I start my raws with adobe rgb and I see now when I convert them to srgb they look fine in ps and on web it's a pity Internet explorer doesn't recognise all colour profiles alike safari or Mozilla which kinda threw me off too but all good now

Thank you again
