LR3 / PSE7 integration problems

I recently got a copy of LR3 and am still trying to get to grips with it, I find the NR much better than in PE7, but there is still some processing I want to do in PE.

After processing in LR I save as tiffs, then if I want to put photos on the internet I use PE "process multiple files" to resize them and change them to JPGs. I have found, however, that sometimes, but not always, files I have processed in LR can't be saved as JPGs in PE - the option is simply not there - JPG 2000 yes, normal JPG, no. It will turn them into JPGs if I "save for web" but as this degrades the image I don't want to do it for competition entries etc.

At first I thought it was because I had different colour spaces in LR & PSE, but having sorted that it is still happening - help!

You should do all your exporting from Lightroom. It has a number of options including resizing, renaming, user choice of quality settings, watermarking, ability to control metadata etc...

Thanks - Perhaps it is just my computer, but it takes at least 10 minutes to open LR, find the files I want and then export them, and just seconds in PS, so I don't want to be constrained to LR when I am just popping a photo onto Facebook etc.

Is it the opening that takes the time or the finding? You need to spend time applying some metadata to photos to get the best from LR.

Arad85 - it is the opening and exporting that take time. I have a well labelled PSE catalogue which I imported, but I have to admit to not really having got my head around the catalogue side of LR yet. To be honest I am currently only using it when I need to as it is just so slow!

Garryknight, very many thanks, that is just what I was after! I will have a fiddle with the export settings and see if that us it.

Yes, that was it! Thanks again, I knew TP could help!
