LR3 Printing queries

Hi all,

I seem to be having different results when printing from LR3 than when I print from PS5.

I'm using a Mitubishi CP9810DW printer and have the correct colour profiles installed. When in both PS5 and LR3 i'm selecting to use the selected profiles and not let the printer manage the colour and all other settings seem to be the same.

However the prints done from LR3 seem to be darker and less saturated. Also im having to set up a cell size to at least 9.07 x 6.1 for a 9x6 print or else it prints with a very slight white edge down one edge of the print. Is this normal?

This is my first experience printing from LR3 but im doing an event at the weekend and doing onsite printing so i'm trying to iron out any issue now.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Don't have lightroom, but it sounds to me like, black point compensation, or perceptual intent for th first problem,
for the second, there might be a setting for your printer driver which increases the border expansion amount. When I used an HP printer I noticed this was a per-software setting, not per-driver.

You may be seeing a " Visual " miss match. By this I mean that the environment around the image ( i.e a dark surround vs a grey or lighter colour surround ) I noticed this comparing images from both Lightroom and Photoshop. I have tried to make the background colour similar grey for both applications and this does help.
