LR3 not importing jpegs

I don't do it often but I shot raw + jpeg recently on my x100 and when I put my card into the reader and import into LR the jpegs aren't showing up in the import dialogue.
I've checked in finder and they aren't in a different folder or anything so not sure why LR isn't seeing them?
I can drag them off the card onto the desktop say then import them from there but I can't seem to make LR see the jpegs on the card, possibly because they are duplicates of the raws (other than in camera processing, b&w conversion etc) and it prioritises the raw files?

Edit->Preferences->General and tick the "Treat JPEG files next to RAW files as separate photos" box.

Cool.

Noiced when i hover over the raw file it comes up "xxxx.dng+jpeg" so it has actually imported it but seemed to be no way of splitting them up. I never really shoot in that mode anyway other than I wanted to do a raw v jpeg comparison the other day.
