So I'm finding the publish to Flickr a useful –*if not slightly inferior - alternative to Jeffrey's Exporter plug-in.

However, I'm getting frustrated with losing images from my Flickr Photostream photoset because I'm deleting them from the publish photoset in LR3. Is there a way to delete or do I have to create a new collection/photoset every time I want to upload everything?

I'm usually pretty good with things but my head's a shed on this one.... :)

I don't see why you're looking to delete them from the publish photoset to be honest - it's only a "virtual container" for the files - it's not as if there's a second copy of the file held on your disk wasting space. If you just want to see the shots that you are exporting, then "fold up" the published photo's section of the display and you'll just see the new ones you've dragged into the photoset.

See your point BY, I'm just a fussy sod and I don't want to end up with a load of photosets in the Flickr section.

Just finding it a bit frustrating when the previous exporter just worked without that pallava.

But why would you have loads of photosets ? I have 2 sets - one for photo's exported at 1024px max (for pictures uploaded for display on TP!) and one for 800px max. (for the prior max. size on here!) If I want to bang shots onto Flickr, I just drag them to the appropriate photoset, and that's it. I have the "New Photo's to Publish" open, and the "Published Photos" folded up, so all I can see are my current export shots. When I've got all the shots I want to export sorted out, I'll hit the publish button and they're on their way, disappearing from the "New Photo's to Publish" as they hit flickr.

Don't know if we're crossing wires... :)

It's these I'm having the create whenever I export a new photo to because otherwise, if I drag it into an existing one and then it will apply any updates Ie done to previously exported images...

Ahh, fair enough - never bothered with the smart photosets bit, I just use it to bang the shots onto flickr, and that's it.

I'll get me coat :coat:

Run me though how you do it again or are there any online tutorials? Intrigued because this way is doing me head in!!!

I literally just drag pictures in library mode directly onto the photostream line. If it's the one shot I'm updating it's easy enough, if there's a bunch from the same days shooting I'll flag them and filter for the flag, then select all that come up. Click in the photo image, and drag it/them onto the line that says Photostream. and that's pretty much it. When you click into the Photostream you get 2 sections - one section for the ones that are already updated into Flickr, and one section for the ones that aren't yet published. Click on publish, and they start transferring, the pictures jump from one section to the other as they go across the ether, and that's pretty much it

Have you Jeffrey's latest Flickr Plugin? It does all the publish stuff too, but with tick boxes to choose how to handle deleting images from your photosets, delete from Flickr, don't delete from Flickr, ask before deleting etc.
