LR 3 beta noise reduction

hi all,

i am using the lightroom 3 beta and when i download my raw files onto it, i am not sure how to do the noise reduction. Also, is there only one way of editing in the develop tab? or can you, like in photoshop, process it in acr and then edit more in photoshop?

LR3 Beta has an improved noise reduction algorithm However it's only enabled in the colour option, as this is the part of the program Adobe wanted comments on.

As far as processing images is concerned, the Lightroom develop module has been ported over to the Photoshop as the ACR module. This means that there is only one way to process in Lightroom. You don't have Photoshop options of ACR or non ACR

A word of caution about comiting to LR3 Beta. Adobe state that it is still a "work in progress" and is there for customer feedback. It also seems that some features are not yet included. Their recommendation is to use it for evaluation not for normal workflow as things may change

so are you saying that as i don't have pse or any other photo editing programme i should wait for it to be released?

Yeah, it's a beta tool, so for people to test the product and provide feedback to Adobe, it isn't a finished product, so might not be that stable etc.
