Im looking for a good lowepro backpack (or slingshot). Im wondering what the best model to get would be? Im looking to hold my D3000+Kitlens, another lens along with spare batteries, memory cards and a few filters.

Id like to order online from a reputable site, and most of all i want a good price!

Any advice? Thanks,
Dean.

Firstly Amazon is the place to go for Lowepro, their prices are fanstastic.
Secondly, i haven't tried slings or backpacks, but i have a shoulder pack called the "Apex 140AW" and it's fantastic, it can hold a D50 with room for a lens (probably 50mm max) so it will definitely have room for the D3000. There is also room for about 2x filters and 6 to 8 memory sticks. Might not be what you're looking for, but i can vouch for this bag, and lowepro all the way :)

I just picked up a mini trekker too...fantastic bag with absolutely loads of room for a body and 7 or 8 lenses, but this might be overkill and there's no room for sandwiches or cake ;)

Saying that, I love the fact that I can fit my 5D in the bag with an old manual focus 450mm prime lens attached!!! :D

I have the slingshot 100AW - great bag but just upgraded it to the Lowepro Classified 160AW. I'm really liking the extra space and find it more convenient to use than the 100AW.

I also have the mini trekker for longer trips where I need (?) more stuff - a really good bag also,

Staff edit: Removed, no selling outside of classifieds please

I have the fastpack 250 and manage to fit all of my kit in with space in the top for snacks and odds and sods for a day trip. It is comfortable to wear for decent walks and, having been caught in a monsoon at Chester zoo over the summer, fairly good on the waterproof side of things.

Even with the postage £20 is a bargain. I've found another serious bargain but as I don't get paid till tomorrow you will all have to wait till after midnight or you'll all buy them and I'll miss out

Just got a Lowepro Primus 200AW from Ffordes (via t'internet) for a very good price. Very pleased with it. Prefer it's design to the Slingshot 200AW, just more comfortable (for me)

MiniTrekker is good, small and light but fits an awful lot in. Drizzle and rainproof, mine hasn't leaked in two hours of torrential rain.

I also have a Computrekker AW. Larger, heavier backpack with a padded rear slot for a laptop, which works well for keeping paperwork flat also. Comes with it's own built in raincoat.

I got fastpack 250 from warehouse express. Enough space for 2 cameras, 300mm lens, flash, tripod, 15" mac and all sorts really. £39.99
I've also got the Fastpack 250. Great bag. WEX are currently advertising it for £54 so you got a good price.

Great find - thanks - was undecided which lowepro backpack to buy, too much choice. Mind made up.

Hi, Just received backpack - FANTASTIC - looks exactly the same as the 200 slingshot (just no logo)

Mini Trekker is a good backpack.

I love mine, had it a week now but fits all my stuff in.

50D
10-22mm
17-55mm
70-300mm
60mm Macro
Two speed lights
All lens hoods
Kenko extension tubes
all my batteries and charging leads etc etc

The bag does feel or look big enough for all that so its not bulky.

Another vote for the MiniTrekker. Might be a bit overkill for the kit the OP has now but leaves plenty of space for the almost inevitable purchases and may well avoid a couple of bags that will end up in the loft once his/her kit outgrows them.

That's mine, loaded with...
1. D700 with 70-300 VR attached
2. Tamron 90mm Macro
3. Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
4. Sigma 8mm fisheye f/4
5. Sigma 12-24
6. Sigma 24-70 (70-200 f/2.8 or Nikkor 70-300 VR fit here as well.)
7. spare batteries
8. Film or other small bits.
9. Memory cards
10. Other odds'n'sods.

There's another pocket on the outside which holds filters, torch, cleaning kit etc and sarnies. On the outside of the pack are 2 attachment points to strap a tripod and a pocket that's normally held up with velcro to hold the bottom of the tripod.

I got my 400AW from Amazon for what seems cheaper than anywhere else.

You can fit tons into it. I'd recommend it so if you down the line get more equipment your bag will be large enough to cope & you won't be trying to cram it all into a small bag.
