Hi Guys,
I am new to this photo game and don't know if I should be posting on this site, so please bear with me.
Wife had 300 plus old slides, which I scanned and stored on computer.
Many of them needed improving, so I used AUTO FIX on Adobe Photo Shop Basic, I then used Serif PhotoPlus 9 to add text to the photo's, then exported them to a CD.
Wife wanted them printed at size 6x4, so I tried both Asda & Tesco online photo shops, but both said that only 21 out of 300 could be printed at 6x4, saying that the rest did not have high enough resolution to print at 6x4.
Can anyone suggest how I could improve the resolution on these photo's.
Thanks very much.
Norm

Scan at a higher res to begin with and work on them as Tif files until you're finish and then save as jpg. The program you use to scan should have an option to set the scan resolution. Set it to 300dpi if possible or the highest you can if you cant go up to 300.

Aye - slides and negatives need to be scanned at a high resolution to start with so that when you enlarge it you get good enough quality to print with.
