Which loupe would you recommend to fine focus a 5x4. :cool:
 
i just picked one up off the local market for a quid. not the best lens in the world no doubt but i can clearly see if something is in focus or not.
 
Thanks for replys, I have one, [I hope] winging its way from China at this moment in time.
 
A jewelers loupe for this work tends to be to short, your nose hits the glass before your eye reaches the loupe, so I would suggest that it is at least 5 cm long maybe 6 cm.

Like the 6x ASPH. recommended above, but maybe not in that price area.:)
 
Richard it didnt dawn on me to check the length on ordered loupe,
will have to wait and see. Agree the price of the 6x ASPH is a little steep.
for me a newbe to 5x4 anyway.
 
I got an ebay one for under a tenner and it's fine
 
As per earlier recommendation, I was buying a 45SU and asked Robert White at the time what was the best Lupe to use and followed his advise. along with five or so Schneider lens I have to admit I didn't notice the price !
Still don't for that matter.
I had just received a bonus at work and needed to hide it somewhere !
